This is a TV interview conducted by Simone de Beauvoir in April 1975. More than 20 years after the publication of her most famous work, The Second Sex, in this classic and heavy two-volume work, she evokes the female condition, female dominance, and abortion taboos that were then considered criminal. and other issues, and seeks to defend the view that the relationship between men and women is a socially constructed one. The classic also saw her seen as a symbol of 20th-century female liberation.

In this interview, Beauvoir begins a dialogue with several MLF (Women's Liberation Movement) activists about the history of the women's movement and the evolution of feminism. Although nearly 50 years have passed since the dialogue took place, many of Beauvoir's views are still resonant and often new.
